Using the app
Trade
The markets rail, the chart, the book and the order ticket, and how they work together.
The Trade view has three parts: the markets on the left, the chart and the book in the middle, and the order ticket on the right. On a phone they stack in that order.
Markets#
Markets are grouped as Taking orders, Running and Matured, and each row shows its epochs. A dot marks markets where you hold an order or a position. Without a choice, the app opens the market that stops taking orders soonest.
The chart#
The chart is the market's tide table: one column per epoch, on the sea.
- Bars are each epoch's crest, capped at the market's cap. The part of a bar above the line is orange: in that epoch the long side would have been paid. The part below is foam.
- The dashed line is the fixed rate. It is also the control that sets it.
- The band marks the market's own epochs. Columns after the current epoch are dotted outlines, and the current epoch fills along the bottom as it runs.
- Markers on the right are orders waiting to be taken, at their rates. Orange markers are orders whose maker receives the crest, light blue ones receive fixed. Size follows notional.
- The cap is the dotted orange line, when it falls inside the chart.
Hover a bar to read that epoch's crest and status, the tips and stake behind it, and how far above or below your line it finished.
Setting the rate on the chart#
With a mouse, press anywhere on the chart and drag: the line follows. On a touch screen, drag from the axis on the left, so a finger elsewhere on the chart still scrolls the page. With the keyboard, focus the handle and use the arrow keys for one tick or Page Up and Page Down for ten. The rate snaps to the market's tick and stops at its cap. Under the chart, the app counts how many of the recent final epochs finished above your line.
The book#
The book shows the same orders as the chart, from the taker's side. Receive fixed lists long-crest orders and Receive the crest lists short-crest orders, best rate first for whoever takes them. Choose Take on a row, or click its marker on the chart, to load it into the ticket. Your own orders show Review, and rows in a market that has started show View.
The ticket#
The ticket has two modes.
- Make an order: choose a side, enter a notional and set the fixed rate, on the chart or in the ticket with the − and + buttons, one tick at a time.
- Take an order: pick one from the book or the chart. The side, notional and rate are the order's; you take all of it.
Before you sign, the ticket shows, for one epoch on your notional:
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| Crest at the recent mean | What one epoch would pay or cost if the crest came in at the mean of the last final checkpoints. |
| Your worst epoch | The crest at zero for long crest, at the cap for short crest. |
| Deposit | Two worst epochs plus the reserve. |
| Account rent | For makers only, returned when the account closes. |
If something stands in the way, the ticket says what, in place of the button: a wallet to connect, an order to pick, a rate above the cap, or a balance too small for the deposit and fees.
Your orders in this market#
Below the book, the app lists your orders and positions in the selected market, with the same actions as in Positions.
